a new website to add to the collection

Cleverly named the art and design portal, this website is going to come in useful for inspiration, keeping me updated AND when you create an account, the world is at your fingertips!

Friends going up in the world!

One of my colleagues at Batley School of Art, Hannah Tiffany, is currently exhibiting in Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield.
She is also attending HOST, and now has a website, which highly recommend anybody intersted in interesting things to visit! http://hannahtiffany.wix.com/art

Getting inspired

Looking at a book that I recently purchased at waterstones, 'This is not a book' By Keri Smith, I am so inspired to get back to my drawing table and crank some work out for the summer project before starting the third and final year of my degree! this book is full of fun ideas of what to do to get those creative juices flowing in the dreary wet holidays! I stummbled upon a website, 'Doodlers Anonymous', crammed with great Artist info, including interviews, previews of work, And a shop for buying these great pieces!!

whitby trip

Yesterday i came back from visiting my gradmother in Whitby, and on our walk around the town, i noticed a little art gallery which i have never realised was there on past trips, "THE ART CAFE". In the window i spotted some interesting jewellry, created by "ELLYMENTAL", and as it was reasonablly priced, i decided to treat myself to a winged necklace. The peices are made up of found emphemera, usuaully 1950's paper cuttings, and then they are glued and varnished to give the final piece a shiny look to them, before the silver is added to make the peices wearable. these are the images from her website; www.ellymental.co.uk
